Cockroaches

The four most common types of cockroaches that Batzner treats for are the American Cockroach, Brownbanded Cockroach, German Cockroach and Oriental Cockroach. Although all of these roaches are similar, they vary in appearance and thrive in different environments.

Appearance

Cockroaches have six legs, two antennae varying in color from reddish-brown, light, medium and dark brown to black. They have flat, oval-shaped bodies with small heads.

Interesting Fact

Even though some species of cockroaches have wings, not all are able to fly.

Behavior and Diet

Roaches can be found in a variety of places depending on the species, but they are commonly found near basements, sewers, and drainage systems or in the kitchen, where food is present. They thrive in warm and moist environments in apartments, homes, supermarkets and restaurants.
