Behavior
- Common problem in apartment complexes and hospitals
- Also can occur in food service areas in hotels, grocery stores and medical centers
- They will nest in any well-protected and hidden areas within a structure
- These ants can also live in lawns or gardens
- Very persistent and difficult to control
- Can have very large colonies
- New colonies easily formed by "budding", when a small group migrates from the original colony
Diet
- Omnivorous, prefer greasy and sweet foods
