Honey Bee
Appearance
- One half inch in length
- Yellow and black coloring with pale hairs covering their body and around the eyes
Behavior
- Social insects
- Colonies can have up to 80,000 individuals
- Non-aggressive unless provoked
- Sting can be painful
- Nests are usually found outdoors in cavities or cracks
- However, can enter homes through an attic opening or chimney and will nest inside homes, usually in wall voids
- Nest are active year round
