In addition to our team of knowledgeable Service Specialists, Batzner’s team of on-staff Associate Certified Entomologists (ACE) gives us added expertise to solve difficult cases when other service providers are not able to find a solution. The Associate Certified Entomologist certification can be attained by those with training and professional field experience in structural pest management.
Meet our Associate Certified Entomologists
In order to become ACE certified, applicants need to:
- Have 5 years of experience (3 years for those with an Entomology degree)
- Hold a current U.S. pesticide applicator’s license
- Pass a rigorous examination
- Sign the ACE Code of Ethics

Master Tech Program
Many Batzner employees have also continued their training and education with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection Master Tech program. Managed through UW-Madison, this certification requires three years of industry experience and the passing of an entirely experience based test, proving them to be experts in the field. The most recent Batzner team members to earn Master Tech recognition are Mike Chapel, Skie Gierach, Nick Schanz, and Sandy Ehlers.
